Health holds a unique and vital importance in our lives; the happiest person in the world is the one who is truly healthy. However, in the remote villages of Jharkhand, a major gap in health awareness still persists among most people. Generally, health is not treated as a priority.
Due to historical neglect and geographical isolation, primary healthcare awareness remains low. While people have started traveling to district hospitals, private clinics, and the RIMS Medical College in Ranchi for childbirth and serious illnesses, they remain dangerously indifferent toward primary healthcare and first aid.
To bridge this gap, the Adarsh Foundation, in coordination with the district administrations of Koderma, Giridih, Hazaribagh, and Chatra, regularly organizes health camps for people living in these remote villages.
The medical teams sent from the district headquarters often face unique challenges on the ground. Families belonging to primitive tribes frequently run away at the mention of injections or modern medicines. They place far greater trust in their traditional herbs and ancient healing practices than in government medical treatments.
Despite this, the team at Adarsh Foundation—in close collaboration with the district administration—has been highly successful in dispelling these misconceptions among primitive tribal families, establishing trust and bringing modern medical aid directly to their doorsteps.
