Our collective effort is to ensure that every child is connected to mainstream education. Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, the government established primary and middle schools in every village and appointed teachers so that no child is deprived of education.
Despite these extensive governmental efforts, in the remote villages of Jharkhand—nestled deep within forests, mountains, and caves—children of the Birhor and Pahariya primitive tribes remain disconnected from school education. While some children do get enrolled in schools within their local areas, they do not attend regularly. There are also many children who have never stepped into a school at all.
The Adarsh Foundation is actively working to bring these endangered primitive tribes and marginalized communities of Jharkhand into the educational mainstream. Their efforts are currently focused across several key districts where deep forest settlements make access challenging.
